About Dean Economics
Dean Economics was founded in May 2025 to provide strategic advice, expert economic analysis and high‑quality business cases for clients across the public and private sector.
The vision is to deliver high‑quality, trusted advice that helps clients make better decisions, minimise risk, secure funding or planning permission, and ultimately deliver projects that support economic growth.
About me
I have 15 years’ experience in economics consultancy. My approach is to provide robust and pragmatic advice, underpined by rigeous data analysis, to support real‑world decision‑making and project delivery. My portfolio spans major UK and international projects, including Heathrow Expansion, the Lower Thames Crossing and Anglesey Freeport, along with business cases and evaluations for all recent MHCLG funding programmes. My approach is grounded in a strong understanding of UK Government appraisal standards, including the Green Book, Magenta Book, TAG and MHCLG Appraisal Guidance. It is focused on providing advice that stands up to scrutiny and supports delivery.
I served on the board of Quod Trust Limited, providing governance, oversight, and long‑term strategic planning for the business. I am a Better Business Case Practitioner, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), and hold a Masters Degree in Economics and Management from the University of Oxford.
